Our Stallions

All of the young horses for sale at IRON HORSE RANCH were sired by Humeny Blackjack Ghost, pictured on our home page.  As can be seen from that photograph, his bone structure is very substantial.  He is extremely correct, and his offspring are consistent for their straight gaits.  He also passes on his very calm temperament.  Whether under saddle or in harness, he is sensible, without flighty or impulsive behavior, but nevertheless being willing to work.  We use him to partner young horses while they are being broken to harness work, and he is unfailing in his patience with this task, which must be often tedious for him. 

Our current standing stallion is one of his sons, LDR Ghost Poncho (2004), out of LDR Brio F.E. #7143 (1996). He is taller and of a somewhat lighter build than his sire, but with a similar generous temperament.
